The Anielens

The anielens are the least developed among all the humanoid races. While most human nations regard them as simple animals, some see them as the lost humanoid species that did not finish its second evolutionary cycle, trapped somewhere between the human and the primate.

The most concrete information about the origins of the anielens comes from Jeil mythology. According to the Jeils, this information is the history itself. However, no other nation or community regards the Jeil texts as accurate historical records but merely as myths. Most historians acknowledge that the Jeil mythology, while distorted, contains clues about widely recognized historical events. For instance, the myths describe the anielens and the Jeils as being originally humans who millions of years ago migrated to the area they now inhabit. That claim is regarded as a plausible theory.

Today the anielens live in the lands south of Jeilkron, east of the Realm of the Nés and west of the Galljan Empire. Troubled by endless inter-tribal wars, the anielens live in dire circumstances. On the one hand, they are under constant attack from the Aurions of the River Rius and the katampras of the Kakareta Mountains. The Jeils also sometimes raid the anielens to capture and sell them to the Galons. The anielens themselves, on the other hand, continuously attack Jeilkron.

The anielens comprise of many tribes loosely connected in unity. In most cases the strongest male anielen leads the tribe though on some rare occasions females also assume the leadership role. The anielens don't have a proper spoken language making their communication extremely primitive. Their political organization is virtually nonexistent and their own lore and traditions are too weak to be called an actual culture. For most societies the anielens are not even significant enough to be mentioned.
